The RAC British Touring Car Championship is the outstanding success of British motorsport. A formula designed to bring the best out of some of the sport’s most evenly matched and competitive drivers and a big commitment from the manufacturers.
The 1992 season was quite simply a touring car classic. In front of crowds of up to 30,000 the season built up to an astonishing and controversial final round climax when three drivers could take the title and the manufacturers’ title was only decided after a three way contest.
This is the official coverage shot in comprehensive fashion by BHP and transmitted by BBC Grandstand. It’s motorsport’s most exciting competition in a season of enthralling action.
