Born Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bows-Lyon in 1900 the first section of the programme colourfully documents the Queen Mother’s life from her childhood years growing up in Scotland, to the death of her husband King George V in 1952.
The second section of this film begins with the Coronation in 1953, looking at Elizabeth’s role as Queen Mother, the power and influence behind the Royal Family.
It also includes the memorable 100th Birthday celebrations where the nation joined together to express their love and admiration for a woman who will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
