Astonishing X-Men Volume 3 No.9 March 2005 ‘Dangerous Part Three’
Previously in Astonishing X-Men:
Things are far from normal for the X-Men.
Recently, the Xavier Institute For Higher Learning was rocked by the invention of a “cure” for the mutant gene – and its first successful test on one of their young students. The student, a boy named Wing, committed suicide inside the X-Men’s advanced holographic training facility, the Danger Room.
Also causing a commotion among the X-Men is the return of a teammate long thought dead – Peter Rasputin, a.k.a. Colossus. Particuarly affected by Peter’s return is Kitty Pryde, the young X-Man for whom Peter was her first love.
Complicating matters, the institute has just been attacked by an old mutant-hunting Sentinel robot. While Kitty hurried the students to the safety of the Danger Room, Colossus, Wolverine and Cyclops succeeded in defeating the Sentinel. But when the X-Men returned inside they found the Danger Room locked tight and Emma Frost delivering the most ominous of omens:
Their enemy is not IN the Danger Room with the children – their enemy IS the Danger Room.
