Previously:

The first Hulk, Tyrone Cash, and Frank “The Punisher” Castle have been strong-armed into joining the Avengers. Their first mission: neutralize the Ghost Rider, a supposed mutant hellbent on killing some important people.

The Ghost Rider, though, is more maniacal than mutant. Once known as Johnny Blaze, the Ghost Rider and his girlfriend, Roxanne, were killed by a group of bikers in a ritual murder led by a man named Blackthorne. They were an offering to the devilish Mephisto in exchange for unyielding wealth and power. But Mephisto offered Blaze a deal too: Blaze’s soul for Roxanne’s life. The rider blazed a trail of vengeance that led straight to the White House and the new Vice President: Blackthorne.

But Mephisto doesn’t toy with human lives to have it end so easily. Taking the last hits of Blackthorne’s soul, Mephisto turned him into another Ghost Rider. With two riders facing off to the death, it’s sure to be a fiery finish.
