Description
The evacuation of the British forces from the French port of Dunkirk was a turning point in the war against the Nazis. Sir John Mills and Richard Attenborough star in this epic reconstruction of the heroic wartime episode when hundreds of little ships sailed from all over Britain to rescue the fighting men trapped on the infamous French beach. If the British troops had been captured then the war would have been effectively lost. Dunkirk recreates the episode with stunning authenticity in a gritty depiction of the national character. This is a superb action-packed war movie, with stunning performances in a film that remains a moving portrayal of the nation’s spirit in a time of war.
